Moving stories from the seat of a train
A ‘moving confessional’ in which train passengers open up about their experiences, their hopes and fears, their loves and their losses on their physical journey through Scotland and their emotional journeys through life.
Commissioned for the new BBC Scotland channel, the programme is drawn from one hundred conversations recorded while travelling over thousands of miles of Scotland's railways. The resulting compilation is a unique and sometimes extraordinary snapshot of contemporary life that is both entertaining and revealing.
"...A beautiful piece of film-making..."
"...Ian Lilley's documentary is a comfort blanket for a chilly January eve. Over two months, on numerous train journeys, the director spoke with passengers, the conversations moving from commonplace observations to heartfelt revelations. For anyone who has people-watched on public transport, pondering the lives of others, this is for you."
